Bethany called me a month before her after-Christmas, before-New Year’s wedding: “Yeah, and there’s usually no snow here around that time, so we could do family portraits outside,” I said. Bethany and I talked again two days before the wedding: “Oh, no, some of your family couldn’t make it because of cancelled flights? Well at least we’ll get some sweet snow portraits with you and Josh,” I said. The next day a foot and a half of snow melted. “THAT’s not going to be good for snow portraits,” I said to myself.

Nevertheless, weddings always turn out. No one’s more resilient than on a wedding day. Travel delays, cancellations, and windy-cold-ugly weather roll off everyone’s back like there’s nothing wrong at all. Bethany and Josh were sweet, happy, and beautiful.
